Make nice looking RPG maps easily.

RPG Map is a tabletop oriented map editor
with the keep it clean & simple philosophy in mind.

About

RPG Map is a tool I’ve built to make maps for my tabletop RPG sessions, with my friends. It’s born from the fact that most existing tools were either looking bad or were simply overly complex to use.

My approach is to make an easy to use tool to create beautiful maps quickly.

You can still access the old Flash-based version (source code available on GitHub)

From 2013 to 2020, the “Cthulhu manor” demo map shows the evolutions of RPG Map

This program is absolutely incredible, if I can recommend a future update for you guys, feel free to consider being able to change the color of furniture as you place them down. That way, a heavy gray piece of furniture can be seen as a refrigerator of sorts where a brown piece of furniture can be seen as something. It would enable users to create even more dynamic structures and worlds.

That's a great idea :) I'll probably do it in the next update.

Sadly not handy on an android tablet. The zoom and movement feels horrible.
So I must stay at the windows desktop version. Bye bye portable mapping.

Beautifully simple but with space to add so much intricate detail. I love it, it's a wonderful successor to the original mapping tool on this site. I will use this extensively for my next campaign and look forward to my friends' reactions to the maps made with it.

hello i was creating battle maps. then I realized something that the lava didn’t give a sparkle of itself was like a painting.
resuming the lava would improve unintentionally if you decided to add a light to it, it already has its own light

You know what would make this app stand out a lot? Have a way to allow people to add their own art and maybe some simple tutorials to make the whole thing even more appealing and this app is gold for hardcore map creators.

In any case, great work, it takes a bit to get around it but a simple to use app so you are up and running in no time.

The app is wonderful! Amazing job.
However, I am having trouble when I go to export the map image. I have grid disabled but it is exporting the image with the shadow of a grid. When I enable the grid I get a grid with a shadow grid.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I really, really, really, love this! The fact that it's downloadable automatically makes it better than things like mipui- for me. As it's in development, it is missing features, but honestly, I can't wait to see what else you add to this amazing tool. Perhaps the ability to "skin" the tool like minecraft- making it so we could have it only have sci-fi based assets, fantasy assets, etc..

Love your tool, real nice and straightfoward. If anything I would ask for alternative styles/more icons regarding the enemies

Ignore my previous comment. You can import when using the browser based version. I was using the desktop download which seems to be behind in version parity. LOVE BOTH

Hi Sebastian, I love what you have created! NICE JOB! I also love the One Page Dungeon by Watabou. I tried to load one a .jsn map from his site and it just gave a lot of errors. Both tools are amazing.
