Make nice looking RPG maps easily.

RPG Map is a tabletop oriented map editor
with the keep it clean & simple philosophy in mind.

About

RPG Map is a tool I’ve built to make maps for my tabletop RPG sessions, with my friends. It’s born from the fact that most existing tools were either looking bad or were simply overly complex to use.

My approach is to make an easy to use tool to create beautiful maps quickly.

You can still access the old Flash-based version (source code available on GitHub)

From 2013 to 2020, the “Cthulhu manor” demo map shows the evolutions of RPG Map

Commercial use

What are the odds of you adding a tile ground that is outer space? I want to make some space maps, but adding a huge outer space image as the background is making my computer run slow.

This is such a great and simple to use program, and yet, the maps turnout great. I love it.

Awesome work here Sebastien. Keep spending hours looking for modern or scifi building maps and can make them with this.

    Thank you.

Your tool is awesome: with this program my maps can be fast, good-looking and versatile.
But this tool has a BIG problem for Roll20 exports: all of the walls are aligned with the middle of the cell making it impossible to correctly draw Dynamic Light bounds on Roll20 using the snap to grid polygon tool. Shifting the map 35px both vertically and horizontally would solve the issue but will make any other asset on the map (being the doors the worst aspect) shifted and off-grid. I tried working with it with a double sized grid and then carrying it back to a 70px per 1.5 meters aspect but that breaks any convenience of using this tool on the without stopping by to Photoshop or Gimp to make tedious, manual corrections.

Hope there is some other kind of workaround to make it viable again with Roll20 but thank you anyway for the wonderful and stylish useful free tool!

I love this. I accidentally found this when I was looking for an entirely different type of map maker, but I'm glad I stumbled on it. Oh, the other type of map maker I was looking for was this one: https://maps.co

I was wondering if there are already premade games that i can make maps for. imagine having all the mechanics but being able to make the map! if no one has done this it would be a great idea somehow to do…

I am enjoying using this program to make my homebrew adventure in introducing my character. Although some assets are somewhat hard to understand to use, it is still enjoyable to use.

I just spent a few hours playing with your software… it's so easy to use and powerful at the same time! Thank you for your work, you did great!
I am as well creating a kind of Fantasy Map Creator which will soon be launched! If you can cast a look and give me your feedback, that would be awesome –> https://aexpression.space/en/fantasy-map-creator/

Quit paying way too much money for expensive online ads! I have a method that costs only a minute bit of cash and delivers an almost indefinite volume of traffic to your website

This software is amazing! I have tried many other similar map creation tools and they're always too basic or way too complex, this is by far the best I have ever tried and it's FREE!!

This is such a beautiful and amazing program you made. I use it for my online sessions with friends and they all loved the art style of the assets. Thank you for making this wonderful map maker! I was surprised that it can be used for commercial purposes, I might make and sell maps (once I'm good at it that is!) but I'll always remember that the program that made me start making maps is made by DeepnightGames.
